Product Documentation for the Hearst Release
What's New in Hearst?
The Hearst release focuses on performance, and future-proofing the underlying Smoothwall infrastructure. No new features have been introduced, however the following changes should be noted:
This new option determines whether group bridging is available for bring-your-own-device (BYOD) clients)

System Restore is now enabled automatically when you upgrade to Hearst. However, it should be noted that due to fundamental changes to the Smoothwall's underlying filesystem, any restore point created prior to the Hearst upgrade will be deleted. A new System restore point for the Hearst installation is created automatically.

The IPSec tunnels' encryption has been tightened. For Glamis-1, a warning was displayed if a mismatch is found with the encryption settings between the local and remote ends of a tunnel. This allowed you to correct the problem before upgrading to Hearst. Now, if such a mismatch is found, the tunnel will fail to establish. You should correct the configuration before continuing with the connection.

From Hearst, Kerberos usernames now appear in their normalized format, irrespective of whether Normalized usernames is enabled.
The minimum RAM required as of Hearst has been increased to 4GB.
